Farm Wedding makeup

Whether you’re going for old-school glamour, classic and polished or an unfussy boho look, follow this guide for flawless bridal makeup.

Girly Glam

What could be more feminine than soft, ice-cream pastels paired with cascading Veronica Lake curls? Start by applying a light layer of foundation, focusing on areas prone to redness. Blend a wash of lilac eye shadow onto your eyelid all the way up to the crease, and pick a pretty pink lipstick in a satin finish for your lips. Waterproof mascara is a must; apply it to your top lashes only to keep the look wide-eyed and dreamy. Finish with a sweep of the brush on the apples of your cheeks. A word of warning: Whatever you do, don’t match your lipstick to your eye shadow – instead, opt for punchy but separate pastel shades on your eyes and lips.

Retro chic

Looking for something dramatic, yet classic? The timeless vintage style is ideal. Create pin curls, brushing them out once set. Clip your curls under to create a faux bob, leaving a few wispy tendrils loose to soften the look. Keep your complexion fresh by dabbing on a long-wearing foundation and a pop of bronze blush to add a glow to your cheeks. To continue the retro feel, create the perfect cat’s eye with a flick of black liquid eyeliner. Now all you need is a slick of red lipstick for maximum impact – look for one that’s long-lasting, to ensure it stays put all day.

Boho beach babe

If you’re having beach-themed wedding this is the look for you, inspired by the bronze brides of the ‘70s – think gently tousled locks, sun kissed skin and soft copper accents on eyes and cheeks. Begin by lightly applying foundation to your face. Dust a fudge-coloured eye shadow onto your eyelids, and define your lashes with a layer of mascara on your top lashes only. Dust bronzer onto the apples of your cheeks, the ridge of your nose and your forehead. Lightly dab on a nude lipstick with your finger to complete the look.
